A Beatle In Benton presents a documentary of the 1963 visit by George Harrison to visit his sister in Benton, Illinois, the first visit by a Beatle to the U.S. His performance with a local group was the first by a Beatle in America, and a local station became the first in America to play Beatles' music. At the time, the Harrison and the Beatles were stars in Britain, but he went unrecognized in America. Months later, The Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show and toured America. The film includes interviews with Marsha Shaffer (a then-teenage disc jockey who interviewed Harrison on the air) and members of the Four Vests, a Benton-based band who played with Harrison during his visit.
